TrueColor Spectrometer

Our US Patent pending TrueColor spectrometer is an advanced spectral measurement system for color measurement and color grading of faceted gemstones, colored diamonds and colorless diamonds. The specially designed dual integrating sphere optical arrangement provides the best possible illuminating and viewing geometry under a controlled measurement environment for measuring the color of faceted gems. The color grading software can simulate the visual color grading methods to grade the color by “considering” the parameters of faceted gemstones: shape, size, refractive index and intensity of fluorescence. The spectrometer is calibrated by a novel three-step method. The TrueColor spectrometer can accurately and precisely measure the spectral reflectance, calculate the CIELAB data and determine the average color grade and the true color grade. The average color represents the color of the gem material, and the true color represents the face-up color, i.e. the “Key color” for faceted colored gemstones, and the “Characteristic color” for colored diamonds.

The TrueColor spectrometer is also designed to measure the color of any rough gemstones, minerals and crystals. In addition, the measured spectral reflectance can be used for spectroscopic research and identification of gems.

The average color of the aquamarine is Strong Light Greenish Blue, and the color grade is Vivid Greenish Blue.
