- Pyrometry Laboratory
- The Pyrometry Laboratory is
developing an alexaanddrite effect spectropyrometer for measuring temperature of any
radiating body up to 100,000 degree. The spectropyrometer can measure the temperature of a
radiating body with spectral lines, other types of pyrometers, such as two-wavelength and
multi-wavelength pyrometers, cannot. We received two US patents for the alexandrite effect
spectropyrometer.

- Color Science Laboratory

- The Color Science Laboratory
mainly provides consultant services, such as color imaging algorithm development, spectral
color matching, color measurement of gemstones, and instrumental color grading of colored
diamonds and colored stones. We have developed several types of daylight sources and
display light sources using incandescent lamps and colored glass filters. We provide
colored glass filters and attachments for MR16 and MR11 incandescent lamps to simulating
daylight and display light sources.

- Optics Laboratory
- The research projects in the Optics
Laboratory include the optimal design of colored glass filter, a
gemological UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer, and the optical phenomena in the nature and
gemstones.

- Gemological Laboratory
- The Gemological Laboratory has been engaging in
gemological researches, and also provides diamonnds and jadeite identification
services. We currently provide express and extra express jadeite identification
service using FTIR and the advanced digital imaging system.
